The first phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended with “change”,this is the province whose performance gave the PTI the opportunity to form a federal government,But in this month’s local body elections, the PTI had to face the wrath of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and as a result, the ruling party was defeated in the local body elections. In these elections, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam emerged as the largest party by winning the largest number of Tehsil Council seats. The JUI-F has won 21 Tehsil Council seats in 17 districts, including the Peshawar mayoral seat, while PTI has won 15, ANP 6 and Muslim League 3 Tehsil Council seats.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has emerged as the largest and most popular party in Peshawar with 149,897 votes in the local body elections. The ruling party Tehreek-e-Insaf has become the second party with 116,584 votes while the Awami National Party has become the third party with 116,224 votes. The outrage of the people can be gauged from the results of the local body elections.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan, while acknowledging the failure of PTI in the results of the first round of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said: They have lost because of the candidates. “Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed frustration over the performance of PTI in the first phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and distribution of tickets among his families. He had also dissolved all the PTI organizations and all the parliamentary boards from the center to the tehsils. These decisions indicate that Imran Khan is not satisfied with the performance of PTI, he also realizes that PTI is losing its popularity across the country. After the dissolution of the party organizations, a new organization was announced in which Asad Umar has been made the secretary general of PTI, Pervez Khattak the president of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Zaidi Sindh, Qasim Suri Balochistan, Shafqat Mehmood Punjab and Khusro Bakhtiar South Punjab.
If we talk about the reasons for the defeat of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, then the biggest reason is surely the widespread poverty, inflation, poverty which has made people disgusted and disappointed with PTI.Nation waiting for “change” for three and a half years.Prime Minister Imran Khan’s promises, assurances, consolations and sweet dreams have been disappointed and disappointed.A more serious threat than inflation is the internal divisions and chaos within the PTI itself. The party has suffered the most from factionalism, the PTI was internally divided over the distribution of tickets.
When it comes to factionalism and factions in PTI, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, Atif Khan and Shahram Turki have their own group.Murad Saeed is one of the closest people to the Prime Minister. He supports Chief Minister Mahmood Khan,Azam Khan, a former bureaucrat and principal secretary to the prime minister, is also from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is considered close to the prime minister. Some federal ministers are close to him, so they influence the government. That is why tickets were distributed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the basis of likes and dislikes, and the PTI suffered its worst defeat at its own home ground.
There were differences and rifts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beforebPervez Khattak tried his best to make him the Chief Minister but Imran Khan not only cleverly removed him from the provincial politics but also made him the Federal Minister.ut in 2018, these differences came to the fore when Imran Khan decided to make Mahmood Khan the Chief Minister instead of Pervez Khattak, the Chief Ministerial candidate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Some senior party leaders also vehemently opposed Imran Khan.Despite all the opposition, Imran Khan decided to make Usman Bazdar and Mahmood Khan Chief Ministers.
Despite the poor performance of both the chief ministers for three years, Imran Khan is still supporting them.Imran Khan’s problem is that he wants to control the provinces from the center and chooses a chief minister who will consult him before any decision or seek his permission. One of the reasons for PTI’s defeat in the local body elections is its attempt to run the provinces to Islamabad.
The party that won the elections in 2018 with a two-thirds majority is now losing its popularity across the country.PTI MNAs and MPAs are blaming party officials and the “kitchen cabinet” sitting in the Prime Minister’s House for the defeat. When the PTI, which lost the by-elections in Punjab, Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lost at its home ground, the PTI has realized that the ground is slipping under its feet.As internal differences and discrepancies come to the fore, unrest and anxiety are spreading among the captains and players. The party with the slogan of change is facing “change”.Imran Khan, who taught the nation not to panic, and his ranks are clearly nervous and uneasy.National elections are a thing of the past. Right now, it seems difficult to avoid honor in local elections.
Success in the local body elections in Punjab in January is a distant dream.Imran Khan and his team’s morale is already weakConsideration is being given to somehow postponing the local body elections till the national elections. Or the National Assembly should be dissolved and new elections should be held. This is the thinking of the captain and his team,It is too early to say what the “ruling circles” are thinking, but it can be said with certainty that Imran Khan’s departure is now over.2022 will surely be a year of great change across the country.
