Every year, our Independence Day gives us an opportunity to remember the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the generations of Filipinos who fought for our freedom and dignity as a people. It is also a time for us to reflect on what independence means today: our continuing responsibility to serve our country, to support one another, and to represent the Philippines with honor wherever we may be.
For Filipinos overseas, this occasion carries a very special meaning. We may be far from home, but our connection to the Philippines remains strong. In our work, in our families, in our communities, and in the way we conduct ourselves abroad, we continue to show the strength, resilience, kindness, and excellence of the Filipino spirit.
To our kababayans here in Karachi and in other parts of Pakistan, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the important role you play in promoting the good name of the Philippines. Through your professionalism, dedication, and goodwill, you serve as bridges of friendship between the Filipino and Pakistani peoples.
The Philippines also deeply values its friendship with Pakistan. We are grateful for the hospitality and goodwill extended by the Government and people of Pakistan to the Filipino community. As our two countries continue to strengthen our relations, the bonds formed between our peoples remain among the most meaningful foundations of our partnership.
As we celebrate Philippine Independence Day, may we all be inspired to continue living out the values that define us as Filipinos: patriotism, compassion, resilience, unity, and service.
Let us remain proud of who we are, grateful for the sacrifices that made our freedom possible, and committed to contributing to the future of our beloved country.
Mabuhay ang Sambayanang Pilipino!
Mabuhay ang Republika ng Pilipinas!
