I extend my warmest felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines on the auspicious occasion of the 128th Independence Anniversary of the Philippines.
This historic day is a proud reminder of the courage, resilience and determination of the Filipino people in their struggle for independence, dignity and national progress. Over the years, the Philippines has achieved remarkable progress and earned respect for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant society, skilled human resource and constructive role in regional and international cooperation.
Thailand and the Philippines, as close friends and fellow members of the ASEAN family, enjoy cordial relations based on mutual respect, shared regional values and a common commitment to peace, stability and prosperity. The friendship between our people is further strengthened through cultural understanding, tourism, trade, education and people-to-people exchanges.
I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the friendly relations between Pakistan and the Philippines, which have continued to grow over the decades in different fields including trade, culture, education, manpower and tourism. Such cooperation plays an important role in promoting goodwill and closer understanding among nations.
On this special occasion, I commend The Financial Daily International for publishing this commemorative supplement to mark the Independence Anniversary of the Philippines and to highlight the spirit of friendship between Pakistan and the Philippines.
