3-day exploratory visit to Lahore by students concludes

LAHORE: Three days visit by delegation of campus based student societies from more than 10 public sector universities ended. The visit was organised by Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) to encourage the youth which is part of different universities and playing their vital role in student clubs and societies, says a Press release.
According to details students of University of Sindh University Jamshoro, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, University of Education Lahore, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Agricultural University Multan, Punjab University, University of Malakand and Women University Multan visited Superior University Lahore, COMSATS University Lahore Campus, University of Education Lahore, and Management House Lahore. The student delegates got a chance to interact with International delegates there.
On the arrival of Governor House Punjab, Begum Perveen Sarwar the wife of Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, who is also the vice-chairperson of Sarwar Foundation interacted with the delegation where it was decided that meaningful engagement of the students would be ensured through strengthening boy scouts and girls guide. At COMATS Lahore Campus, Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director Campus, warmly welcomed to the all delegates.
At the University of Education Lahore Campus, a dialogue on campus life was attended by national delegates along with International students where the participants shared experiences and best practices on effective role of student societies in promoting values of peace, tolerance, co-existence and inter faith harmony. At the event, IUCPSS encouraged youth to make new policies and endorsed to own the universities and youth.
The delegation invited over reception with Vice-Chancellors and higher education Leadership of Punjab at Gymkhana Club Lahore.
While addressing to the delegates, Chairman Vice-Chancellors Committee and Vice-Chancellor Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali, and Vice-Chancellor University of Education Lahore, Prof Dr. Rauf-i-Azam highlighted the importance of inter-University collaborations to effective and meaningful engagement of the students in extra-curricular activities.
Management House Lahore arranged a session ‘Interactive discussion on peace and co-existence ‘ which was conducted by Ali Abbas, he shared that ‘diversity is an aspect of human existence that cannot be eradicated by terrorism or war or self-consuming hatred. It can only be conquered by recognizing and claiming the wealth of values it represents for all. They discussed every conceptual narrative of society and on-going issues.
Moreover, such healthy activities and discussion can change the school of thoughts, the discussion is an exchange of knowledge; an argument an exchange of ignorance.
Delegates shared their experiences and pledged support to IUCPSS to complete this session, and provided them an opportunity to interact with a variety of people from different walks.
