PM Khan others laud Erdogan for voicing Kashmir conflict in UNGA

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his deep appreciation for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for once again raising his voice in support of the rights of Kashmiri people during the address to the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
In a tweet on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said Turkey’s unwavering support remains a source of strength for the Kashmiris in their legitimate struggle for self-determination.

Meanwhile, commenting on the Turkish President’s address to the UN General Assembly, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram said that Pakistan fully supports Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s bold statement in the UN General Assembly on global issues, including Jammu and Kashmir.
Munir Akram on his Twitter handle said that Pakistan also fully supports Erdogan’s call for declaring an international day against Islamophobia.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said that raising voice by Turkey for Kashmiris is victory of the stance that the United Nations should fulfil its promise of ensuring right to self-determination for Kashmiris as per Security Council resolutions.
In a tweet, the information minister thanked Turkish President Erdogan for again openly supporting resolution of the Kashmir dispute on the basis of justice and principles.
During the UN General Assembly address on Tuesday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan termed the Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan “a burning issue” and called for resolving it through dialogue.
“The Kashmir conflict, which is also key to the stability and peace of South Asia, is still a burning issue,” Erdogan said in a speech he made via video-link to the 193-member Assembly’s landmark 75th session.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the establishment of One Window Complaint System under which all the complaint cells of federal departments will be linked with Pakistan Citizens Portal.
Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit has been directed to determine modalities in consultation with all concerned organizations, chalk out integration plans and get it completed within sixty days.
According to the PM office, 33 complaint cells of the federal departments will initially be linked to Pakistan Citizens Portal. The centralised mechanism will help the federal government achieve a number of goals pertaining to an effective grievance redressal regime.
The connectivity of PCP with existing cells of different federal organisations will end confusion on part of citizens due to multiple complaint cells, said the statement. It will also ensure processing of all complaints in real-time and in a uniform manner.
It will also avoid wastage of time and resources besides providing centralised analytics from one source for policy interventions on different public issues.
According to the letter, Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU) including PCP, operations and management shall be managed by PMO and all complaints are backed by well-chalked out user guidelines for complaints and suggestions’ handling.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to prepare a time-frame based action plan for the medium and long-term projects to enhance agriculture produce in the country.
Presiding over a meeting to review progress on agriculture reforms and food security initiatives here on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said that ensuring food security is top priority of the government.
He directed the restructuring of agro-ecological zones in Pakistan in order to compile data pertaining to the country’s potential for enhanced crop productivity and diversification.
He also ordered the compilation of accurate data based on the production of different food commodities. He issued directives to concerned ministries for paying special attention to special economic zones dedicated to the processing of food commodities. Farmers should be attracted and provided required assistance to produce vital crops for exports, said the PM.
The Prime Minister directed to operationalise the Food Security Dash Board at the Ministry of Food Security in collaboration with all provinces and relevant departments. He also directed to pay special attention towards economic zones for the processing of agricultural produce.
Emphasizing on getting benefits from Chinese experience, the Prime Minister said technical expertise of Chinese should be fully exploited. He also directed to establish an integrated and coordinated system between all stakeholders including research institutions, universities and other concerned departments.
The meeting was briefed on the food security challenges in view of the growing population, current status of production of agricultural commodities and progress on the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Programme.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that promoting economic diplomacy is the need of the hour, which will not only strengthen bilateral relations with other countries but existing potential can also be exploited to the maximum level in the field of economy.
The Prime Minister said this while chairing a meeting here on Wednesday. The meeting decided to form an Economic Outreach Apex Committee to promote economic diplomacy.
The Prime Minister directed Pakistan Missions abroad to give utmost attention to promote economic diplomacy. Imran Khan directed Chairman Board of Investment to ensure provision of all possible assistance to foreign investors, who show their interest to invest in various sectors of the country.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Security Dr Moeed Yousaf has been made focal person to promote economic diplomacy.
The meeting also decided to set up an Economic Outreach Coordination Group to have a liaison with concerned federal ministries, provincial departments and other institutions to achieve the goals. – TLTP
