LAHORE: The LCCI Wednesday presented a Resolution to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar calling for an immediate end to the genocide of Palestinians by Israel.
The Resolution was signed by the LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah, Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Khan, Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, Executive Committee and market leaders.
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry also demonstrated a Rally from LCCI to Governor House. President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mian Tariq Misbah, Senior Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, Executive Committee Members, traders, industrialists and people from different walks of life were part of the LCCI rally who showed solidarity with Palestinians.
The participants of the LCCI Rally were chanting “stop martyring innocent Palestinians, Free Palestine” and held placards that read “End Israeli aggression”, “Stop bombing in Gaza.”
The LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah, along with Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Khan and Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, presented a Resolution to the Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, condemning Israeli aggression.
The Governor Punjab condemned Israeli terrorism against innocent Palestinians and said under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan stands with Palestine and will continue to raise its issue on every forum. He said all Muslim countries of the world will have to unite for the cause of Palestine freedom.
He said that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a meeting with the Palestinian Foreign Minister and going to raise a common voice against Israeli aggression in United Nations.
LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah said that Israeli illegal policies and practices and expansionist plans in the occupied State of Palestine, endanger the international peace and security and threaten the prospects for attaining a peaceful solution to the conflict.
“LCCI condemns the continued Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip which causes Palestinian civilian casualties, including children and women, and destruction of civilian property and infrastructure, and reiterates its call on the international community to hold Israel accountable for the war crimes committed in the course of its aggression in May 2021 and before”, he added.
Mian Tariq Misbah said that LCCI also condemns the Israel’s ongoing and intensifying settlement activities in all manifestations in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, which constitute grave breaches of international humanitarian law, presents a major obstacle to the resumption of a credible peace process, disintegrates the contiguity of the State of Palestine, and causes vast physical, economic and social devastation.
LCCI Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Khan and Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry said condemned Israel’s systematic violation of the human rights of the Palestinian people, including violations resulting from use of excessive force and military operations, which led to the death and injury of Palestinian citizens, non-violent peaceful protesters, the use of collective punishment, confiscation of Palestinian land, the wall, and the destruction of properties and infrastructure and all other illegal acts.
The LCCI office-bearers called upon the international community, including the UN Security Council, the OIC and the European Union etc., to take effective and immediate measures to compel Israel to abide by the United Nations resolutions.
They demanded United Nations to fulfill its responsibility towards the issue of Palestine until all of its aspects are resolved. They said that the international community should increase its efforts towards the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on international law and relevant United Nations resolutions in this regard.
They added that LCCI is committed to work with the national and international community to pressurize Israel, the occupying power, to end all illegal practices and to abide by its obligations under international law.
