KARACHI: Two more matches were decided in the Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Corporate Cup Cricket Tournament. Led by Kamran Akmal, Eshal Falcon defeated SMS Gymkhana by 14 runs.
In the other match, Humanity Door Foundation defeated Mahid Sports by 24 runs. Eshal Falcon’s team batted first and scored 184 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Kamran Akmal scored 40 off 30 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. Muhammad Sudish contributed 38 runs.
Farooq Hassan took three wickets. In reply, SMS Gymkhana scored 174 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted overs. Akbar Babar remained prominent by scoring 44 runs. Akif Javed, Ahmed Danial and Hussain Talat took two wickets each. Kamran Akmal was declared man of the match.
In the second match, the Humanity Door Foundation team batted first and put up a mountain-like total of 213 for six in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Afzal played an innings of 95 off just 38 balls. Afzal’s innings included 11 sixes and four fours. Jahanzeb Sultan scored 62 runs. Shayan Naeem and Osama Basharat took two wickets each.
In reply, Mahid Sports team scored one hundred and ninety runs for nine wickets. Lal Kumar remained prominent by scoring 45 runs. Jahanzeb Sultan got three wickets and Khozaima Bin Tanveer got two wickets. Muhammad Afzal was declared Man-of-the-Match.
Two matches will also be played on Monday. Mahid Sports will compete against Alamgir Gymkhana at 8.30 pm while Omar Associates will face Arham Cricket Club at 11:30 pm.
