KARACHI: Pakistan-US Alumni Network Karachi Chapter in Collaboration with Iqra University organized PAUN Entrepreneurship Conference 2022 on Saturday at Executive Development Centre of Iqra University, here at Karachi. An effort to highlight up-and-coming startups was made by Dr. Essa Lab and Diagnostic Centre as Co-Sponsored.
Speaking at the Conference Mukesh Kumar Provincial Chief Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) Sindh discussed the opportunities provided by SMEDA ,Startups are fully supported by various programs to boost the country’s economic growth.
“One persistent issue that hampers the growth of Entrepreneurs is Lack of documentation and awareness but SMEDA launched the One Window operation program to help new Business, Startups and existing SMEs.”
SMEDA increased its collaboration with Academia Business Chambers for organizing training programs, developing their business plan, marketing, branding and technological support to grow their new businesses .This year we also partnered with the KCCI in their SME Conference held at Expo centre, he added.
Earlier, Sohail Khan -President Pakistan US Alumni Network Karachi Chapter well come all the participants in his Inaugural address while Mohammed Idrees President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Majyd Aziz ,President of UN Global Network Pakistan, Fahad Sikander-Founder & CEO Mobitsing, Shahzad Shahid Group CEO TPS, Azima Dhanjee CEO of Connect Hear discussed the new business challenges and their available solutions.
Moving over to the next Panel discussion Sonal Dhanani Founder Parindey said that Startups have hit hard by recent heated Political environment and many of them shut down their businesses due to hike in fuel price resulting the closure of operations of SWVL,While there is a success story of Airlift Technologies Pvt. has scored the largest single private funding round in Pakistan’s history.
“I realized that launching an online storefront is challenging for aspiring entrepreneurs and creating apps and websites required at the time,” Ghazanfar Iqbal Country Head Sales Careem.
Pakistan is “in the early stages, but the transformation is happening very, very quickly and we are seeing a shift in behavior,” “We have a lot of people who previously didn’t shop online.” he concluded.
