ABU DHABI (UAE): Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi hosted an Iftar dinner at the Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi. A large number of UAE based prominent Pakistani professionals including doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs and educationists attended the event. The event was aimed at providing a platform to the notable Pakistanis who are representing the large Pakistani diaspora in the United Arab Emirates.
Ambassador Tirmizi extended a warm welcome to the guests and extended them the Ramadan greetings and best wishes; and reiterated his commitment to continue organizing such events in order to bring the Pakistani community together. He lauded the pivotal role of the Pakistani professionals in the UAE and their contribution to the development and progress of both Pakistan and the UAE. He highlighted the invaluable services of Pakistani doctors in particular who are amongst the world’s best medical practitioners.
The Ambassador highlighted the deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE; and underscored that strength of these relations is based on promotion of trade and investment between the two countries. He appealed to the businessmen and investors to play their role in enhancing contacts and coordination with their UAE counterparts to boost bilateral trade and investment.
He said that the Pakistani start-ups should be encouraged and helped out in order to strengthen their roots. The Ambassador also focused on the education of Pakistani children. He said that there are only three schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi being overseen by the Embassy which are not adequate to cater to the needs of a large number of the children due to which every year, a number of children are deprived of getting admissions in these schools.
He stressed that well-off Pakistanis must come forward to extend financial support for construction of new blocks in the existing schools or establishment of new Pakistan community schools.
A number of participants shared their viewpoints with the Ambassador on his directions and extended useful suggestions for enhancing trade and improvement of Pakistani educational institutions. They also affirmed to work closely with the Embassy for the wellbeing of the community.
In conclusion, all participants were served dinner with traditional Pakistani cuisine.
