highlighting the need of strengthening military connections between the two nations, General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Friday; a state-owned Radio Pakistan reported.

For his three-day official visit, PM Ibrahim is in Islamabad with the goal of reviving the bilateral strategic alliance between Pakistan and Malaysia.

In a meeting with Gen. Munir, the prime minister of Malaysia reportedly emphasized the “need for increasing bilateral ties, particularly military relations between the two brotherly countries,” according to Radio Pakistan.

The prime minister of Malaysia also acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army in fighting terrorism, as well as their “role in regional peace and stability.”

The statement claims that PM Ibrahim also invited the army head to come to Malaysia.
Gratitude was expressed by Gen. Munir to the prime minister for “the invitation and the successful visit to Pakistan.”

Prior to their meeting, PM Ibrahim and Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan pledged to strengthen their collaboration while talking over a variety of bilateral, regional, and global concerns.
