KARACHI: After 76 years of occupation, exile, captivity, killings and brutal war crimes by the Zionist regime, Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza carried out the Al-Aqsa storm operation against the Israeli regime on October 7, 2023 to end the occupation, together with doing away with massacres and barbaric crimes against humanity. This decision was taken by the leaders of the resistance front and the people of Palestine and Gaza.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, like the rest of the world, learned about this operation through the media. But in continuation of Iran’s principled permanent policy based on supporting the Palestinian nation to end the occupation of their land, it assisted Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups.
In response to this action, the Zionist regime, with the full support of the United States and some other western countries, committed an unprecedented genocide of the oppressed Palestinian nation through massacring more than 42 thousand innocent people, including children, women and the elders; while the international authorities and the world community manifested silence and apathy in front of this horrific situation.
This criminal regime has destroyed all the infrastructures including; Schools, hospitals, ambulances, killing hundreds of rescue teams, relief workers and journalists in Gaza and the West Bank and recently continuing this unparalleled crime of genocide in Lebanon, violating all international rules and regulations and humanitarian rights.
The world is witnessing massacre, infanticide, violation of human rights, violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity, use of weapons of mass destruction, cyber, technological and digital terrorism, violation of diplomatic norms through invasion on embassies, demolition of the cultural and the common spiritual heritage of humanity. The American and Western authorities approve all these crimes against humanity as the execution of justice by this barbarous regime.
On the day of the Oath-taking ceremony of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Zionist terrorist regime assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political wing of Hamas and the former Prime Minister of Palestine, who was an official guest of Iran, in Tehran, grossly violating all international regulations and the sovereignty of countries. Due to the breach of the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, countermeasures were an inherent, legal and enforceable right for Iran according to international law.
After Gaza, the Zionist regime extended its aggression to Lebanon on September 27, 2024, with dropping 85number of one ton weight American Bunker Buster Bombs and assassinated Syed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah along with other innocent civilians. In this terrorist operation, in addition to Hezbollah fighters and civilians, Sardar Abbas Nilfroshan, Iran’s senior military adviser in Beirut, was also martyred.
As a result, after two months of restraint, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s missile defense operation, within the framework of the rules of international law and the Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, in response to the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime, including the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, in killing Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, massacre of people of Lebanon and wounding the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon by blasting pagers, took place on the evening of Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
Unlike the Zionist regime, which targets civilians and public infrastructure, Islamic Republic of Iran according to moral principles and Islamic law and in full compliance with the principle of international humanitarian law, merely targeted military and security bases that were responsible for the genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, with a defensive missile attack. More than 90% of the set targets have been hit in accordance with the objectives of the operation.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has never invaded the territory of another country, since it has always been in favour of regional and global peace and stability. But it is serious in implementing the inherent right of legitimate defense against any aggression. Iran’s action of retaliation has now ended, unless the Israeli regime continues its aggression in violation of Iran’s sovereignty or any other dangerous adventure, wishing to see more reactions.
In this case, Iran’s response will be stronger and more powerful, because the Islamic Republic of Iran has the power and capability to respond strongly and decisively to any violation on its territory and interests.
America and the western supporters of the Zionist regime should stop arming and financially supporting the Israeli regime in the first step, instead of using speech therapy, to prove their claim to prevent a large-scale regional war.
The Zionist regime considers the only way to save itself in an all-encompassing regional and international war with the participation of the United States. Therefore, the supporters of Israel, especially the United States, are now more responsible for stopping the war. However, due to the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire between Hamas and the Zionist regime and in response to the requests of many countries and in order to reduce partly the suffering of the defenseless people of Gaza, the Islamic Republic of Iran exercised its right to self-defense with restraint and delayed until the outcome of the ceasefire negotiations.
The international community, especially the Islamic countries, while taking immediate action to condemn the brutality of the Zionist regime, should fulfill their overdue duties to end the aggression and genocide by the Israeli regime in order to reduce the anger of the Muslim nations, which is ready to explode.
