The true strength of any nation lies in the potential of its youth. Pakistan is blessed to have a vibrant young population, with the majority of its people between the ages of 18 and 30. This is a rare and precious moment in the history of nations, one that holds boundless possibilities for our future. Our youth are our pride, our most valuable asset, and they hold the future of this nation in their hands. Through their energy, ideas, and skills, they can play an instrumental role in shaping Pakistan into a truly great country. With the right focus, they can realize the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and lead Pakistan toward greatness.
Pakistan is a blessing from Allah Almighty, a gift that came after tremendous sacrifices and struggles by our forefathers under the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam. Through his leadership, they endured hardships and fought for the dream of a free nation. We, as citizens of this blessed land, are privileged to live in a country where we can follow our values, live freely, and share in the joy of unity. Now, it is our turn to honor the dream of Quaid-i-Azam and work towards the prosperity of our homeland.
Promoting Education and Skill Development: A nation’s progress is anchored in its education system. By prioritizing education and advocating for equal access to quality learning, the youth can contribute to build a knowledgeable and skilled workforce. By focusing on fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), digital literacy, and technical education, Pakistan can evolve into a knowledge-based economy. As Quaid-i-Azam said, “Without education, it is complete darkness, and with education, it is light. Education is a matter of life and death to our nation.”
Preferences and Priorities: Education must be the foremost priority for our youth. Quaid-i-Azam emphasized its importance in shaping a prosperous future. The youth must commit to continuous growth academically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. A growth mindset, coupled with quality education, is the bedrock upon which civilizations thrive. Equipping young minds with knowledge, skills, and critical thinking will enable them to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
Community Service: Involving youth in community service fosters a sense of purpose, confidence, and a commitment to national progress. Initiatives such as planting trees, helping the underprivileged, creating job opportunities, and imparting skills empower individuals and communities alike. By engaging in social welfare projects and educational initiatives, young people can help drive meaningful change, contributing to a better society.
Economic Development: The youth have a pivotal role in economic growth. Whether through supporting established businesses, launching new ventures, or contributing their skills to community development, their involvement is crucial for sustained prosperity. Encouraging entrepreneurship, enhancing productivity, and fostering innovation are key to building a thriving economy.
Adopting a Selfless and Positive Attitude: Quaid-i-Azam exemplified selflessness, humility, and a positive outlook toward the future. The youth should emulate these values, displaying a commitment to justice, equality, and service to the nation. As Jinnah believed in equal rights for all, the youth must champion these principles, building a nation grounded in fairness and mutual respect.
Realizing the Blessings of Freedom: Today’s youth are fortunate to live in a free Pakistan, but it is important to recognize the sacrifices that made this freedom possible. The struggles and sacrifices of our leaders, who fought for independence, must be remembered. The youth must cherish this freedom, work hard to protect it and safeguard the future of the nation.
Patriotism and Nationalism: The youth should embrace patriotism with sincerity, dedication, and a righteous love for their homeland. Quaid-i-Azam’s vision of Pakistan as a land for all, regardless of religion or background, should inspire youth to uphold unity, respect, and loyalty to their country. With gratitude, faith, and love for Pakistan, they can contribute to the greatness of this nation.
Fostering Brotherhood and Unity: In today’s technologically driven world, fostering peace, happiness, and prosperity in society is essential. The youth must promote unity and respect for one another, transcending religious and cultural divides. Teachers, social workers, religious leaders, and politicians must work together to protect and educate the youth, ensuring they understand the value of harmony and collaboration.
Guidance from the Quran: The Quran, as the ultimate guide from Allah Almighty, offers timeless wisdom that can lead humanity toward success. Quaid-i-Azam, in his wisdom, encouraged students to draw inspiration from the Quran. “What message can I give you? We have got the great message in the Quran for our guidance and enlightenment,” he said. The Quran’s teachings provide the foundation for personal and collective success, and its guidance is a powerful tool for youth to lead purposeful lives.
Overcome the Challenges: The youth face numerous challenges, including unemployment, lack of opportunities, and societal pressures. It is vital to create a supportive environment where young people can thrive. By providing high-quality education, mentorship, and innovative platforms, we can help youth overcome obstacles and achieve their potential. The Ashab-i-Kahf’s (People of the Cave) story in the Quran is a powerful reminder of resilience, determination, and the strength of faith in overcoming adversity.
I urge the youth of Pakistan to honor Quaid-i-Azam’s vision and work tirelessly to make Pakistan great. Let us embody discipline, unity, and faith in our lives, understanding that education, hard work, and determination are the keys to overcoming challenges. By following the principles set forth by Quaid-i-Azam integrity, selflessness, and a commitment to justice and equality – we can build a prosperous future for our beloved country.
As Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, once said, “Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace.” Let us empower our youth with the skills, education, and opportunities they need to drive progress and innovation for Pakistan’s development.
In Sha Allah, with the skillful and talented youth, Pakistan will achieve unparalleled greatness.
