Global delegations arrive in Islamabad for Inter-Parliamentary Speakers conference

KARACHI: Islamabad has become the center of international parliamentary diplomacy as high-level delegations from across the world arrived in Pakistan to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), being held from November 11 to 12.
Representatives from Mauritius, Russia, Ghana, Belarus, Lebanon, Syria, the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), Washington Times, and several other countries and organizations are attending the two-day forum, which focuses on strengthening global cooperation, enhancing parliamentary partnerships, and promoting interfaith dialogue.
A distinguished delegation from the World Mission Headquarters also reached Islamabad early Tuesday morning to join the conference proceedings. The delegation comprises Seung Yeon Doo, Director General of the World Mission Headquarters; Masaichi Hori, Advisor for the Asia-Pacific region; Kajikuri Masatate,Director of Mission; Motoyama Katsuyoshi, Deputy Director of the Planning Department; and Hyun Sup Do, Chair of the Human Resources Development Institute.
Senior officials from the Senate Secretariat received the delegation at Islamabad International Airport, extending a formal welcome ahead of the opening sessions.
Officials say the participation of such diverse international delegations reflects Pakistan’s growing diplomatic outreach and its commitment to fostering constructive dialogue on global peace, parliamentary cooperation, and interfaith harmony.
Sessions scheduled over the two-day conference will focus on regional connectivity, conflict resolution, international parliamentary coordination, and the role of legislatures in promoting peace and development.
Parliamentary leaders are also expected to discuss global challenges, including humanitarian crises, extremism, and economic instability, while exploring ways to strengthen legislative oversight and improve democratic governance.
