Groundbreaking Ceremony of Dumlottee-DHA Water Pipeline Project

KARACHI: Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig Member National Assembly NA-241 Karachi at the groundbreaking ceremony of Dumlottee-DHA Water Pipeline Project, said that it’s a dream come true of tanker free DHA. He consented election in February 2024, showing PC-1 of dedicated Dumlottee DHA pipeline project of additional 10 million gallon water per day to the residents of DHA and Clifton.
Dr. Baig thanked Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Chairman PPP, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Nasir Hussain Shah Minister for Local Govt Sindh, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Station Commander CBC Brig. Imran Asghar, Project Director Brig Adnan Akhtar Ali and KW&SC MD, COO and management, to pursue the project with revised cost of Rs. 14.23 billion. He referred his recent meeting with DRS organized by president and members, expressing their utmost joy and happiness on signing of the agreement between KW&SC and FWO. Dr. Baig proposed a monitoring committee of eminent residents of DHA and Clifton to monitor the progress of the project to be completed in 15 months. He also clarified members regarding source of water supply from Keenjhar lake and not from dumlottee wells. Water to be sold to the residents @70 paisa per gallon which will give them massive relief monthly for their water purchasing cost.
Dr. Baig informed that he is working with Federal Govt on K-4 project for the water supply to Karachi which need 1200 MGD but hardly getting 550 MGD, remaining shortfall of 650 MGD will be supplied from K-4 project. This matter was taken up with the concerns in standing committee on economic affairs meeting on 21st Sept chaired by Dr. Baig.
