KARACHI: Former cricketer Javed Miandad says that the Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium is a beautiful addition to the grounds of Karachi. The stadium has been built to world class which is a clear proof of Arif Habib’s love for sports. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the first Pakistan Day Double Wicket Cricket Tournament played jointly by Jalaluddin Cricket Academy and Naya Nazimabad Cricket Academy at Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium.
Javed Miandad said that the Naya Nazimabad housing project is very impressive and has all good facilities.
The final of the girls double wicket Cricket tournament played on this occasion was won by Arub Shah and Imama Nazir by three runs.
After an interesting contest in the final, the pair of Sana Taj and Mehka Amin lost. Twelve teams participated in the tournament.
Arub Shah was the winner in catching the skills competition and Yasir Ahmed was the winner in fitness.
The best fielder award went to Arija Khan while the special prize went to Shabnam Hayat.
Special Guest Javed Miandad, Naya Nazimabad Chief Executive Officer Samad Habib, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Muhammad Talha, Tournament Director Former Test Cricketer Jalaluddin, Tauseef Ahmed, Rashid Khan, Azam Khan, Asim Rizvi and others distributed prizes among the players. The finalist teams were also given trophies and cash prizes
Meanwhile, Javed Miandad also hoisted the flag along with the audience to observe Pakistan Day.
