Bilawal lauds exemplary JPMC role for healthcare

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that there is the dire need to invest in Sindh healthcare infrastructure to provide better health facilities to our peoples from all over Pakistan when he was addressing in the inauguration ceremony of Surgical Complex in Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre on Monday.
Speaking at the occasion he said that JPMC playing exemplary role in changing the Health Care infrastructure and serve as successful example of Public Private Partnership which was first time introduced by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in 1993 Manifesto. We proved that PPP fulfilled his commitment for providing free of cost health care services and serving the whole country without any discrimination, caste and creed. We are investing in Healthcare, Power generation, Education and in many developmental projects.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah in his address said that after devolution heavy responsibility lies on our shoulders to provide the best health facilities to the people of Sindh that’s why we invested wisely in SIUT, NICH, NICVD and Gambat Institute of Liver Transplant to establish as role models.
He said that he instructed Dr Azra Pechuho that she can recruit any doctor at any time anywhere in the province of Sindh.
Dr. Azra Pechuho invited the Karachi business community to invest in rural healthcare projects of interior Sindh where our poor people are in need of better treatment in their own areas.
Earlier, Professor of Radiology and Member of Executive Committee Patient Aid Foundation, Dr Tariq Mehmood delivered the welcome address and highlighted the recent joint venture of Sind Government and Patient Aid Foundation to set up a state of art Surgical Complex of 500 beds and 18 operation theatres will also provide the facility of free of Cost Cyberknife surgery, which is not seen in any part of the world having successful rate is 99.9%.
Director JPMC and acting Chancellor Jinnah Hospital Professor Shahid Rehman in his vote of thanks declared human resource is their biggest challenge and said we desperately need the faculty shortage and recently we took 180 trainers to resolve this issue and I’ll promise that I’ll functional all departments if I’ll bridge this gap. Today I’m thankful to our Chairman Bilawal Bhutto for adopting JPMC otherwise we are completely neglected by federal Government in terms of any support.
