On behalf of the Karachi Editors Club (KEC), I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the leadership of the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the friendly people of China on the auspicious occasion of the 105th Founding Anniversary of the Communist Party of China.
The history of the Communist Party of China is one of determination, resilience and visionary leadership. During the past 105 years, the CPC has guided China through extraordinary phases of revolution, reconstruction, reform, modernization and technological advancement. Today, China stands among the world’s leading economic, scientific and industrial powers while continuing to play an increasingly constructive role in promoting international cooperation, sustainable development and global connectivity.
The remarkable transformation of China has inspired admiration across the world. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, the nation has continued its journey towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation by emphasizing innovation, high-quality development, poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability and people-centred progress. China’s achievements in infrastructure, technology, education, healthcare and economic development have become an important source of inspiration for many developing countries striving for long-term and sustainable growth.
Pakistan and China have enjoyed an iron-clad friendship for more than seven decades. This enduring relationship has been built on mutual trust, respect and unwavering support in times of need. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, has further strengthened bilateral cooperation and opened new avenues for economic development, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges. As journalists and media professionals, we believe it is equally important to promote understanding, dialogue and cultural cooperation between the peoples of both nations.
The Karachi Editors Club takes immense pride in its unique contribution towards strengthening Pakistan-China friendship through media engagement. Established in 2017, the Karachi Editors Club became the first media organization in Pakistan to formally celebrate the Founding Anniversary of the Communist Party of China. We initiated this tradition with the 97th Founding Anniversary of the CPC in 2018, under the visionary leadership and guidance of Manzar Naqvi, Secretary General of the Karachi Editors Club, making KEC the pioneer organization in Pakistan to recognize and commemorate this important occasion on an annual basis.
What makes this initiative even more meaningful is that every celebration has been organized entirely through the commitment and dedication of the Karachi Editors Club’s members and management. Since 2018, all events have been organized without any financial assistance from any institution in Pakistan or from China. Every seminar, commemorative gathering, special publication and related activity has been made possible through the voluntary contributions, personal commitment and collective efforts of our members, who firmly believe in promoting understanding and friendship between Pakistan and China.
This year, in 2026, the Karachi Editors Club proudly celebrates the 105th Founding Anniversary of the Communist Party of China, marking its ninth consecutive annual celebration since this tradition began in 2018. Over the years, our commemorative programmes have brought together diplomats, scholars, journalists, academics, business leaders, students and representatives from various walks of life to exchange ideas and deepen understanding of China’s remarkable development journey and the enduring friendship between our two countries.
These annual celebrations have evolved into a respected tradition within Pakistan’s media community. They reflect our sincere appreciation for China’s extraordinary achievements and our unwavering commitment to strengthening people-to-people relations. Through seminars, special publications, discussions and cultural interactions, KEC has consistently sought to promote a better understanding of China’s development experience and the ever-growing strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
As President of the Karachi Editors Club, I express my profound appreciation to all our members, office-bearers and well-wishers whose dedication has enabled us to sustain this important tradition for nine consecutive years. Their unwavering commitment demonstrates that meaningful initiatives are driven not only by financial resources but also by conviction, friendship and a shared vision.
On this historic occasion, I once again convey my warmest congratulations to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, President Xi Jinping, the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the people of China. May the Communist Party of China continue to lead the nation towards greater prosperity, innovation, peace and sustainable development. May the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China continue to grow stronger with each passing year, serving as a shining example of mutual respect, sincere cooperation and shared progress.
