Pakistan has rapidly began “reaping” the fruits of CPEC project now. With the inception of second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, its benefits have started pouring in with tremendous jobs opportunities for the masses and especially for the long neglected and deprived locals of Baluchistan and Gwadar.
China-Pakistan economic Corridor CPEC $62 billion mega-project of China in Pakistan, is the largest Chinese investment in Pakistan to date and is flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative BRI focusing policy coordination, connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and people to people bonding.
The CPEC Authority was established in 2019 at the request of China to ensure timely completion of the CPEC projects accelerating the pace of CPEC related activities as CPEC projects were not executing in the country per desired & decidedschedule and pace as well as was facing innumerous hindrances due to the inefficiency and incapability of the civilian and political governments in Pakistan.CPEC Authority is a one-window operation where foreign investors get their job done from one place without facing any sort of hassle.
General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa was appointed as the Chairman CPEC Authority CPECA.
Asim Saleem Bajwa is an ideal choice for China as he has served as southern command of Pakistan Army in Baluchistan where he demonstrated instrumental in kick-starting and fast-tracking numerous development initiatives in the economically backward province.
Asim Bajwa widely known for his “doer” nature for performing and delivering in any kind of field, as he just focus on accomplishing his task with complete devotion, dedication and hard work without paying any heed to bigot elements misleading propaganda.
The halted CPEC projects started turning into a reality the day General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa took charge as Chairman CPEC Authority, due to his Army background CPEC security was ensured first of all with foolproof arrangements to combat militancy and terrorism chances by India and other anti-state elements.
Mr. Asim Saleem Bajwa categorically stated during his recent visit to Karachi commerce and chamber business community that “No power on earth could sabotage the CPEC as it is the country’s national project”.
CPEC accelerated its fast pace track and completed its 1st phase of energy and communication infrastructure successfully under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Asim Bajwa.
CPEC by no means is a game changer for Pakistan as it plays a catalyst role in the regional integration and paving ways for a “Greater South Asia”, including Afghanistan, China and Iran and Myanmar.
A number of infrastructure projects have already been completed while two important projects on the Western alignment of CPEC, Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan and Basima-Khuzdar Motorways would be completed by the end of the current year. Almost 90% work on the first phase of CPEC hydropower projects has been completed. Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) Motorway is rapidly under the completion phase and DI Khan to Zhob motorway project also approved by China. These roads will be connected to Gwadar, Baluchistan and Sindh within the timeline of 2 years.
The Eastern Route alignment of CPEC, the last section Sukkur-Hyderabad has already been launched, leaving behind no left-over road project.
Western Route alignment roads pass through deprived, under developed and poor poverty-ridden remote areas of Pakistan whichpromise to create immense job opportunities for the poor masses and economic prosperity for the entire region.
Pakistan has now entered second phase of CPEC which is aimed at agriculture, science and technology and development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) which will prove to be more crucial, challenging, conclusive and rewarding for the country.
In a recent TV channel interview Chairman CPEC Asim Bajwa while shedding light on second phase of CPEC informed the nation that “, “We are now moving beyond energy and road infrastructure to agriculture, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), tourism, science technology and information technology”.
CPEC phase 2 is focusing upon the poverty alleviation and economic prosperity of Pakistan.

Rashakai and Faisalabad industrial zones are in full swing as a part of special economic zones SEZs to expand and boost the Industrial sector of the country which will provide employment to jobless youth of Pakistan.
The Gwadar Free Zone is also being expanded during the second phase to an area of 2,200 acres.
The successful completion of CPEC phase 1 and beginning of CPEC phase 2 under the marvelous leadership of Asim Saleem Bajwa manifest the fact that the CPEC project is making progress by leaps and bounds despite Covid-19 pandemic across the globe.
The transition of CPEC projects from paper work into a reality is a negation of false propaganda carried out by USA, India and anti-state elements as a part of their nefarious campaign to sabotage the project via negative narrative a by funding and training writers, think tanks and insurgent elements in Pakistan, as they were wary of not only Pakistan becoming the recipient of all of this development but also of the increasing role of China in the region.
CPEC beyond any shadow of doubt and conspiracy theories is now a reality due to the untiring efforts of Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa who is indispensable guarantee and name for the success and timely completion of the project in Pakistan.
