KARACHI: Participants at the annual International Interfaith Masooma-e-Sindh Conference, held at the Sindh Scouts Club Karachi and jointly organized by the Zaireen Khidmat Committee Agham Kot, Sindh, and the Karachi Editors Club, strongly condemned the continued delay tactics allegedly employed by the Sindh Auqaf Department in the construction of the sacred shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh.
Addressing the gathering, Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars of the Zaireen Khidmat Committee announced the launch of a phased protest movement beginning in the last week of January 2026, citing prolonged suspension and deliberate hindrances affecting the construction work.
According to the announced plan, the protest movement will begin with a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, followed by a one-day symbolic hunger strike outside the Press Club. After a brief interval, a continuous protest hunger strike will be staged, with participation expected from mourning organizations and Matami Anjumans from various parts of Sindh.
The organizers stated that the protest movement would continue until all related issues are resolved and construction work on the shrine is fully restored.
