After the presentation, Mr. Zhao presented us with gifts, and the delegation honored him with an Ajrak. Following this, we were taken on a tour of the workshop. The visit concluded with a dinner hosted by the Shanghai Electric team at a Turkish restaurant.

The Bund and Huangpu River

After dinner, the CEN team treated us to a visit to The Bund and the Huangpu River, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the delegation.
The Bund, located along the Huangpu River in Shanghai, is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Stretching for about 1.5 kilometers, it offers a breathtaking view of Shanghai’s skyline, blending historical architecture with modern skyscrapers. On one side of The Bund, grand colonial-era buildings from the early 20th century stand, showcasing a mix of architectural styles like Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical. These buildings, once home to banks and trading houses, symbolize Shanghai’s historical significance as a global trading hub.
On the opposite side, the Huangpu River flows, dividing Shanghai into two parts: Puxi and Pudong. The river plays a vital role in the city’s economy, acting as a major waterway for trade and transportation. At night, the river becomes a lively scene as boats cruise by, illuminated by the vibrant lights of the futuristic Pudong skyline, featuring landmarks like the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower.
The Bund and the Huangpu River together represent a perfect fusion of Shanghai’s rich history and rapid modernization, attracting millions of tourists every year to experience the city’s unique charm.
