ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Shibli Faraz has said the elections in Gilgit Baltistan were held in the most transparent manner.
Addressing a news conference here on Monday, the information minister said the people of Gilgit Baltistan fully participated in the democratic process. He said the people of this region have rejected the narrative of the PDM and voted for a bright future.
The information minister rejected the opposition’s allegations of rigging saying it is their hallmark especially that of the PML (N) that only those elections are free in which they secure victories.
Shibli Faraz said rule of law is the priority of the present government and it will go after each and every corrupt element. He said we want to take the country towards betterment.
He said the PML (N) leader Maryam Nawaz should present evidence as to how she accumulated the assets instead of giving lectures on democracy.
Meanwhile, turning down the opposition’s allegations, Foreign Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday termed the recent polls in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) fair and transparent.
Talking to journalists, Qureshi said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has laid the foundation for credible and transparent polls in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that the people of GB rejected the narrative of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the elections. The foreign minister praised the people for casting their votes despite heavy snowfall in the area.
Responding to a question, the foreign minister said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was peddling the narrative of the country’s enemies. He said that the PDM wanted to create anarchy in the country.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Syed Shibli Faraz has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) triumph in Gilgit Baltistan elections is reflection of the confidence of the people of the region on the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a tweet on Monday, Syed Shibli Faraz said that the people of Gilgit Baltistan have rejected the narrative of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and endorsed the ideology of Imran Khan. – TLTP
