KARACHI: Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has issued a strong warning to Khawarij militants and their facilitators, declaring that they must immediately surrender to the state or face decisive action. The message comes in the wake of recent terrorist attacks in Orakzai and Dera Ismail Khan, in which multiple security personnel, including three officers, were martyred.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, paying tribute to the martyrs, said the blood of the nation’s heroes had drawn a clear line between the state and its enemies. “Those who challenge the writ of the state will either surrender or be eliminated,” he said.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also delivered a stern message, describing the campaign as a “national war for survival.” He warned that every facilitator, financier, and sympathizer of the Khawarij network would be dealt with the full force of the state.
Security agencies have intensified intelligence-based operations to dismantle militant networks and are also targeting illegal financing channels – including smuggling and narcotics – that fund terrorism. Stronger border control measures are being implemented to curb cross-border infiltration and foreign-backed proxy activities.
The government has also urged political parties and citizens to unite in this national fight against terrorism. Officials stressed that this is not just a military campaign but a collective national mission to restore lasting peace and security across the country.
