Greenwich University to hold 17th convocation at Sindh Governor House

KARACHI: Greenwich University is set to hold its 17th Convocation on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the historic Sindh Governor House, marking yet another milestone in the institution’s journey of academic excellence and youth development.
In this connection, a press conference to brief the media about the convocation was held on Saturday at the Greenwich University campus. Addressing the media, Seema Mughal, Chancellor of Greenwich University, warmly welcomed media representatives, appreciated their continued engagement with the university, and formally extended an invitation to attend the upcoming convocation ceremony.
While outlining the day’s proceedings, the Chancellor announced that Greenwich University’s 17th Convocation will be held at the Sindh Governor House, a venue symbolizing dignity, tradition, and national heritage. She noted that the choice of venue reflects the university’s commitment to celebrating academic achievement in an environment that inspires pride and a sense of national belonging.
Ms. Seema Mughal shared that Convocation 2026 is being organized under the theme “Fasl-e-Gul”, a metaphor for renewal, hope, and blossoming potential. She explained that the theme aims to rejuvenate and reinforce a positive image of Pakistan among the youth, encouraging them to move forward with confidence, optimism, and a sense of responsibility toward society and the nation. According to her, Greenwich University believes that education is not merely about earning degrees but about nurturing values, vision, and a constructive national outlook.
Elaborating on the scale of the ceremony, the Chancellor stated that over 500 graduates from undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs will be awarded degrees during the convocation. These graduates, she said, are now ready to step into their professional lives equipped with knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding imparted by the university.
In recognition of excellence, 25 outstanding students will be awarded Gold Medals for their exceptional academic achievements and notable performance in co-curricular activities. Ms. Mughal highlighted that these Gold Medals are sponsored by industry partners, reflecting strong collaboration between academia and industry and underscoring the confidence of the corporate sector in the quality of Greenwich University graduates.
Degrees to be conferred at the ceremony include Associate, Undergraduate, Graduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. qualifications. The Chancellor emphasized that the convocation is a moment of pride not only for the graduates but also for their parents, whose sacrifices and support play a vital role in student success. She added that the event also recognizes the collective efforts of faculty members, administrators, and the entire Greenwich fraternity in shaping capable and socially responsible individuals.
Concluding her remarks, Ms. Seema Mughal reiterated Greenwich University’s vision of contributing to national progress by nurturing Pakistan’s youth through quality education, character building, and innovation.
