Total Deaths Over Four Days: 35 bodies recovered.

Causes and Response
The heat index, which combines air temperature and relative humidity, reached 50°C on Wednesday. This extreme condition exacerbated by power outages due to loadshedding has made life unbearable for many residents.

Commissioner Hasan Naqvi has requested K-Electric to avoid loadshedding, especially during night hours, to alleviate the suffering caused by the heatwave.

Weather Forecast
The Met Office predicts:

Thursday: Hot and humid with temperatures between 36-38°C.
Friday: Possible isolated dust-thunderstorm or light rain on the outskirts of Karachi.
Regional Forecast: Dust storm/light rain expected in Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar.
Conclusion
The current heatwave in Karachi has resulted in a tragic loss of life and heightened public health concerns. With temperatures expected to remain high, it’s crucial for residents to take precautionary measures, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat hours. Authorities must continue to monitor the situation closely and provide the necessary support to mitigate the impact of this extreme weather.
