KARACHI: The Institute of Bankers Pakistan conducted its Annual Convocation-2019 and Essay Competition Prize distribution ceremony Monday at its Karachi Head Office. Jamil Ahmed, the Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan graced the occasion as the chief Guest and distributed Gold Medals, Prizes and Credentials to the successful candidates of JAIBP, AIBP and top three winners of the Essay Competition, says a Press release.
Jamil Ahmed in his address eulogized the role and contribution of IBP for enabling the financial institutions to move forward with an energized and creative workforce. He said that advancement in knowledge and appropriate expertise always play a vital role in raising staff productivity and the progress graph of the banks. Organizations committed to the improvement of their human resources skillsets also derive immense benefits in the form of better talent retention and effective management.
He lauded the services of IBP as the leading knowledge-sharing hub for the banking sector, which has played a pivotal role in the dissemination of the best international practices and innovative technology solutions amongst the banks. He asked the banks and its human capital assets to derive full benefits from IBP’s training programs on various topics of current interest.
Earlier Chief Executive of IBP, Mansur-Ur-Rehman Khan welcomed the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, senior Bankers and recipients of awards. In his welcome address he dwelt at length on the contribution of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan, for the last more than six decades, towards the growth and development of Human Resources of the banking sector. He also felicitated the award winners and wished them well in their future. He further said that those who pass out in JAIBP, also have the added advantage to become Associate of Chartered Banker Institute UK.
In addition, Jamil Ahmed along with Mansur-Ur-Rehman Khan distributed the Gold Medals and prizes to ISQ and Essay Prize winners whereas Inam Elahi (Ex. President, National Bank of Pakistan) along with Mansur-Ur-Rehman Khan dispensed the single prizes to the recipients.
Jamil Ahmed expressed his desire to share the joys of success in achieving the remarkable distinction, which would prove to be a milestone in their lives. He also congratulated and exhorted them to keep it up, never despair and yearn for more such accomplishments. Apart from the above gold medals and prizes, newly-introduced Kassim Parekh Gold Medal and Imtiaz Alam Hanafi Gold Medal, instituted by Habib Metropolitan Bank and the family of I.A. Hanafi, respectively were also awarded to successful candidates.
In the end, the JAIBP completion certificates were distributed to the Gold Medalist/Prize Winners by Arsalan Aftab, FCA (Director Academics & Examinations), Kamran Ahmed Hashmi, FCMA (CFO & Company Secretary), Ms. Khawlah Usman (Director Marketing & Sales) and Farough Ali Naweed, FCMA (Head of Academics & Examinations).
