IMF no more an obstacle in amnesty scheme of govt

ISLAMABAD: A major obstacle regarding the Assets Declaration and Amnesty Scheme 2019 has been removed as Pakistan has convinced the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the scheme.
According to details, the amnesty scheme is likely to be introduced this month, while the federal government aims for collecting Rs170 billion more under the scheme.
Finance ministry sources claim that assets worth Rs2,500 could be termed ‘legal’ as the scheme is implemented.
Furthermore, the scheme will be preceded by the IMF bailout package for Pakistan, and it cannot be implemented after taking the package from the IMF. – NNI
