ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan on Sunday asked his supporters to prepare for the next march towards Islamabad, saying he would never give up his jehad against the ‘imported’ government.
“I ask of the entire nation to prepare and wait for my call for the protest,” Imran told participants of a workers’ convention in Charsadda, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The former premier said his party would leave no stone unturned this time to prepare for the long march.
Turning his guns towards the opposition, he specifically warned Interior Minister Rana Sanullah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz that they would not be spared for their manhandling of the protesters during the party’s march on Thursday.
“We will make sure that we bring you to justice and get you punished for your actions that day,” he said.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman went on to say that the nation would never forgive “Rana Sanaullah, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz for their act of tyranny” against peaceful protesters.
He added that “no country in the world would use tear gas shells on protesters in the way that the government did”.
The ousted premier also announced to approach the Supreme Court against the alleged use of male Punjab police officials to detain women from inside homes during the raids to arrest the party’s activists.
He also took the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led (PML-N) government to task for increasing the prices of fuel.
“They did so on the orders of the IMF.” he said, adding, “They will also compromise on Kashmir as well as accept Israel.”
Imran claimed that according to a photo, a Pakistani delegation had travelled to Israel, adding that the team also comprised an official of the state-run PTV.
He further said that the government also would not buy inexpensive fuel from Russia. “They will do all of these things because they are an imported government and they are subservient to the US.”
Concluding, the PTI chief said that the rulers wanted to turn a dignified nation of 200 million people into slaves, which they should not accept and take to the streets on his call.
