ISLAMABAD,: Jordan’s King Abdullah II has arrived in Pakistan for two-day visit on Saturday.
According to details, King Abdullah II was welcomed with verve by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Nur Khan Airbase.
During his visit, King Abdullah II will hold key meetings with the Pakistani leadership.
Both the countries are expected to hold talks for fostering the political, economic and cultural ties. King Abdullah II’s visit to Pakistan is the reflection of the steadfast ties between Pakistan and Jordan.
Apart from the president and the premier, prominent among those who have welcomed King Abdullah II on his arrival to Pakistan, were Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir met King Abdullah II of Jordan during his official visit to the Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting underscored the strong defence and diplomatic ties between the two brotherly nations.
Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting. The discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly enhancing collaboration in defence and security and exchanging perspectives on regional developments.
Field Marshal Munir conveyed warm greetings from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah II, who is also supreme commander of the Jordan Armed Forces. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to deepening its fraternal ties with Jordan – a relationship rooted in shared values, faith, and mutual respect.
King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan armed forces towards promoting peace and stability in the region. He also emphasized Jordan’s desire to further strengthen defence collaboration between the two countries.
The meeting reflected the mutual resolve of both nations to expand strategic cooperation in areas of defence training, military coordination, and security policy exchange. -NNI
