Karachi surpasses Lahore in literary actions: Commissioner Karachi

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon said that we have the passion to move forward and we over taken Lahore in Literary activities when he was addressing in the press conference at the Auditorium II of Arts Council of Pakistan, here Saturday evening.
He said that Lahore was the axis of art but now Karachi is the ‘Hub of Arts ‘ They are left behind from us and today they are asking us how we are organizing so many tremendous activities like Adab Festival, Sindh Literature festival, Urdu Conference, UBL Literary Awards, Children Literature festival (CLF) and last but not the least Karachi Literature (KLF) festival is one of the world’s youngest and fastest growing literary festivals which started from Karachi.
Deputy Commissioner District South Saeed Laghari, Ijaz Ahmad Farooqui (Secretary), Noorulhuda Shah (Joint Secretary), Qudsia Akbar (Treasurer) while Syed Asjad Bukhari, Dr. Qaiser Sajjad, Huma Mir, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Syed Shahzad Raza Naqvi, Syed Sajid Hassan, Ambreen Haseeb, Ghazi Salahuddin, Muhammad Ayoub Sheikh, Nusrat Haris, Farrukh Tanveer. Shahnaz and President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah attended this Press conference.
Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon also praised the way the Arts Council Karachi worked in COVID-19 and flood.
