KARACHI: Patron-in-chief of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) S.M Muneer and President Sheikh Umer Rehan appreciated the initiatives taken by government to respond reservations of Business Community in their address to a gathering of Industrialists and business leaders in a luncheon given by former SVP of KATI Salman Aslam in the honor of S.M Muneer, says a Press release.
S.M Muneer said that while national economy was facing great challenges it was well needed to take business community into confidence and government had step forward to doing so. “Recently the PM Khan’s government reached the business community and hopefully these efforts will bring some positive changes” he added.
He was of view that there should be mechanism of joint deliberation on economy for government and business representatives to draw some basic strategies for economic prosperity of the country. He also urged the PM Khan to take steps for the issuance of delayed refunds of exporters and industrialists.
Sheikh Umer Rehan said that the PM Khan has given a great vision for lowering down the cost of production in industry and ease of doing business, but major changes are still awaited. He said that higher cost of doing business is one of the major causes of decline in our national exports. He also said that the cost has been reached to the level that industry couldn’t bear a bit of increase in that.
He cautioned that if the energy prices would be increased for the industry, production would have become impossible due to higher cost of production. He also urged the federal and provincial governments to work together for the betterment of industrial infrastructure.
The luncheon was also attended by Khalid Tawab, Zubair Chhaya, Danish Khan, Zubair Tufail, Farhan-ur-Rehman, Zahid Saeed, Hanif Gohar, Ikram Rajput, Syed Wajid Hussain, Mazhar A Nasir, Noor Khan, DC Korangi Shaharyar Memon, and other prominent businessmen of Karachi.
