One Decade Celebration of SSWAB Trust
SSWAB Trust in connection with One Decade Celebration – a fundraising program including musical evening and dinner arranged during the reported week. The evening was presided over by Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani. The program was well attended by Senator Haseeb Khan, donors, elites from Karachiites, Trustees, staff and public from various walks of life.
The Management of SSWAB Trust has shared the major issues to provide improved better health care services to the deserving patients; like the Trust badly need its own building as a big amount of funds has to be spent on rent. In emergencies they have to run after the cabs, therefore they need an Ambulance; and last but not the least is timely provision of Zakat, Sadaqat, and donations to meet all related expenses.
In the end Prof. Dr. Waqar Kazmi, President SSWAB Trust has performed his signing talent and received big applause from the audience. Shehla Ahmed managed all the ceremony beautifully throughout.
SSWAB Trust also had organized a Medical Camp and lecture by Prof. Dr. Waqar H. Kazmi at SSWAB Trust Dialysis Centre last month and a Seminar on Community Health at Karachi Art Council earlier this month.
SSWAB Trust Dialysis Centre is serving the patients who are suffering from hypertension, diabetes and kidney diseases under the supervision of renowned Nephrologist Prof. Dr. Waqar H. Kazmi and his professional team, since 2009. The Dialysis Centre is a state of the art dialysis facility in Karachi, having latest equipment and machinery. SSWAB Trust Dialysis Centre is a charitable dialysis centre. Besides doing dialysis for end-stage renal disease patients, the other bigger objective is to prevent people from facing the kidney failure.
SSWAB Trust runs a program The Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP-Pakistan) which focuses on screening patients likely to end up in renal failure, and provide lab facilities and medical treatment to patients with early kidney failure, especially patients with diabetes and hypertension.
On the occasion of SSWAB Trust One Decade Celebration various events have organized on different dates and venues, including Medical Camps, Seminars and Grand celebration.
Shallwani reviews arrangements for upcoming Christmas
Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani chaired a meeting to review the security arrangements for Christmas celebrations being carried out by the security organizations and decided to provide fool proof security around the churches on the occasion of Christmas.
The meeting was attended among others by Deputy Commissioner South Sallahuddin Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioners of all districts, DIG South Sharjil Karim Kharal, other senior police officials and senior officials of DMCs, Cantonment Boards, Water and Sewerage Board, and representative of K-Electric.
Representatives of the Christian community were also present in the meeting. MPA Navid Anthony, Father Saleh Diego, other members of Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi including Saleem Michael, Anthony D’Silva, Afzal Jabob, father Anthony Abroz, Pervaiz Gill, and Shameem Khursheed.
The Commissioner asked the security organizations to ensure foolproof security arrangements and take extra security measures in churches on the eve of Christmas. It was also decided that foolproof security arrangements and measures for provision of civic facilities, including streetlights, cleanliness, etc. around churches would be made. It was also decided that K-Electric will make arrangements for the supply of uninterrupted supply of electricity to the churches during Christmas. Commissioner directed the K-Electric to avoid load-shedding in all churches during Christmas and other places of celebrations of Christmas so that they could celebrate their festival without any hassle.
He also directed the DMCs to ensure that street lights are in working condition. Christian community leaders thanked the city administration for holding the timely meeting to resolve the issues related to their community and pointed out some of the issues regarding sewerage and traffic. The Commissioner directed authorities to resolve the issues relating to the traffic congestion and over flow of sewerage as pointed out in the meeting by the leader s of Christian community.
Keep it up Maham
Maham, daughter of renowned Chef & Social Worker Sabeen Fatima, secured 91.58% in SSC (Part-I). Proud mother has glad to see outstanding performance of her beloved daughter in the SSC Annual Examination and thanked to Allah & Holy five for their kindness and wishes her for a bright future. Sabeen said that Maham is an intelligent and diligent in her school. Certainly, her success is due to Allah’s grace and her hard work.
