Chinese CG hosts 70th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China
Wang Yu, Chinese Consul General in Karachi in connection with the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China hosted a reception at a local hotel to celebrate the anniversary during the reported week.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail addressed the gathering as chief guests lauded exemplary Sino-Pak friendship, and appreciated ongoing CPEC activities at Karachi. They also lauded meritorious services for strengthening bilateral, trade and cultural relations among the two countries by Wang Yu Consul General of China who is leaving back after serving three years at Karachi.
This prestigious ceremony was largely attended as compared with all previous ceremonies of Chinese Consulate Karachi. Dignitaries and elites of Karachi from every walk of life, like, diplomats, military and government official, members of federal and provincial assemblies, cabinet members, business community and media attended the ceremony.
After the speech session amazing and interesting different variety show were arranged by Chinese performers. After the performances of Chinese emerging artists cake cutting for the 70th anniversary of PRC was held.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail along with Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Consul General of China Wang Yu, Sindh Minister Imtiaz Shaikh and others cut the cake of 70th anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China. All Chinese Consulate’s envoys including Vice CG Chen Xiaodong and Liu Yuanli were very active on the reception to receive and serve to the guests.
On this occasion Wang Yu in his message said that the October 1st, 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. On behalf of the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, I would like to take the opportunity to celebrate the Chinese National Day and share the joys with Pakistan people.
Seventy-year history witnessed the Chinese nation, which since modern times began had endured so much for so long, has achieved a tremendous transformation: from standing up, getting rich to becoming strong.
1949, the founding of the People’s Republic of China marked the standing up. It was the end of the semi-colonial and semi-feudal society of old China, the establishment of a new state regime in which the people were masters of their own affairs, and the fact that the Chinese people were no longer oppressed by foreign invaders and oppressed by exploiters.
From 1978, reform and opening up made Chinese nation getting rich. The leap from standing up to prosperity of the Chinese nation. Reform and opening up has brought unprecedented and profound changes to China’s economy, politics, culture, society and people’s life. The economic scale reached to the second place in the world in 2010. 40 years of reform and opening up, China has gone through the developed countries for hundreds of years. The industrialization process of the Chinese people has realized the long-cherished wish of the Chinese people to get rid of poverty for thousands of years.
From 2012, under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese nation ushered in a great leap from standing up, getting rich to becoming strong, which means that China is close to realizing the goal of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as never before. The achievements touched every area and broken new ground, the changes have been profound and fundamental. China has solved many tough problems that were long on the agenda but never resolved, and accomplished many things that were wanted but never got done. The quality and efficiency of economic development have been continuously improved, the people’s sense of achievement has been significantly enhanced.
The miracle of China and the experience of China have been widely recognized by the international community, which fully proves to the world that the national development model and the road of modernization are diverse. The development road of China will expand the way for the vast number of developing countries to move towards modernization, provide a Chinese solution to human problems, and contribute to Chinese wisdom.
Seventy-year history also tested the strength of the unique China-Pakistan relationship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-Pakistan friendship has always been unshakable, time-tested, stood against the changes in the international situation and the domestic situation of the two countries. It has grown from strength to strength, and expanded by leaps and bounds.
Over the past several years, CPEC has made important achievements. Sindh and Balochistan, the two provinces of the jurisdictions of Chinese Consulate-General in Karachi, enjoyed abundant fruits from CPEC. Each of the two provinces has more than 10 projects completed or under construction. CPEC has contributed and will contribute more to the social economic development and promote the standard of living of Pakistan people. We will see more projects on the fields of agriculture, education, medical, poverty alleviation, water supply and vocational education in the two provinces.
As time goes on, China-Pakistan friendship will deepen in the hearts of the two peoples, and our cooperation will bring more benefit to both countries and the region. To further promote and strengthen this relationship to higher standard, the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi will make continuous efforts day by day.
