KARACHI: A review meeting was held at NAB (Karachi) today under the chairmanship of DG Mohammad Altaf Bawany in which progress of the under process inquiries and investigations was reviewed, says a Press release.
With regard to the cases related to the land scams / frauds, several cases were discussed. DG was apprised that several such cases have been matured and soon after the completion of investigative work, References will be filed after approval of the competent authority.
It was apprised to DG that in one such case of illegal allotment of land measuring 5222 acres located at District Thatta for cattle farming against an amount of Rs. 15 million to Nasser Abdullah Lootah, the investigative work was at advanced stage which will be submitted to competent authority soon along with recommendations of investigating team. It may be mentioned here that such allotment to Nasser Abdullah Lootah suffered serious illegalities in process of allotment which has caused loss to national exchequer worth millions of Rupees.
Regarding the same individual the review meeting also took under consideration the case initiated on the allegation of illegal allotment of 02 Acres land in exchange of 15 Acres land in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi to Nasser Abdullah Lootah against non-payment of occupancy value, at Dehr Okewari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi.
On this matter, it was apprised to the review board that such allegations in the complaint regarding non-payment of occupancy value and exchange were not proved against the alleged, as the said land of 02 Acres was a fresh allotment by Land Utilisation Department Government of Sindh and was made against the amount of Rs. 3.87 million in lieu of occupancy value.
With regard to same piece of 30 Acres land located near Alladin Park, it was apprised to the review board that another inquiry regarding 05 acres allotted to Wasif Qavi was under process, in which findings were being compiled.
DG NAB issued the instructions to the investigating teams to conclude the cases as per law in line with the directions of Chairman NAB Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal.
