NCSW and ADB join together to commemorate 16 Days of Activism.
ISLAMABAD: The topic of gender based violence was dissected by NCSW with the team of Asian Development Bank in commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism, says a Press release.
As a key speaker Chairperson NCSW shed light upon the Noor Mukaddam case as example of Gender Base Violence and she emphasized the important role of society for its control.
She highlighted the post-flood situation in context of women their health, shelter issues. She stressed the urgent and special requirements of pregnant women and said that they need to be looked after immediately.
She emphasized the need and importance to strengthen the relevant institutions in context of floods and COVID-19. The NCSW team gave a presentation on CEDAW & commitments to gender based violence.
She further said that gender based violence is not and will never be acceptable. However the change begins through conversation & solidarity. The 16 Days of Activism is alive and active!
The event was joined by Asad Aleem, Deputy Country Director ADB & Nida Azhar Secretary Punjab Commission on the Status of Women.
