New Motorway from Mansehra to Chilas to Revolutionize Travel and Tourism

Excitement is building as the government announces a groundbreaking new infrastructure project in the 2024-25 budget—a 240 km motorway from Mansehra to Chilas, passing through Naran, Jalkhad, and Babusar. This highly anticipated project includes the construction of the Babusar Tunnel, aiming to establish a tourism corridor for both summer and winter seasons.

The new motorway is expected to significantly reduce travel time, slashing the current 7-hour journey down to just 2 hours. This remarkable improvement will make travel safer and more convenient, attracting tourists and boosting the local economy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the transformative impact of the project, stating, “This motorway will not only enhance the safety and ease of travel but also open up new opportunities for tourism and economic growth in the region. We are committed to developing infrastructure that benefits our people and our country.”

Economic analysts are also optimistic about the project’s potential. Khurram Schehzad, CEO of Alpha Beta Core, remarked, “The development of this motorway and tunnel is a significant step towards improving accessibility and promoting tourism in these beautiful regions. It will create new economic opportunities and contribute to the overall stability and growth of the economy.”

As the construction progresses, locals and tourists alike eagerly anticipate the completion of the motorway, looking forward to safer, quicker, and more enjoyable journeys through the picturesque landscapes of northern Pakistan.
