ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has said that Pakistan’s election as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) with an overwhelming majority of votes reflects the global community’s confidence in Pakistan’s contribution to advancing the human rights agenda.
In a statement posted on his X handle, the ambassador said Pakistan will work with renewed resolve during its upcoming term to uphold the UNHRC’s mandate across the board.
