LAHORE: Following the demand of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday extended the polling time for General Elections 2018 by one hour.
The time for polling will now be from 8am to 6pm.
In a letter written to the ECP by the PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry, the party demanded to extend the polling hours by three hours in the upcoming elections.
The letter stated that the intensity of heat wave has increased and the extension in polling hours would facilitate the general public especially the elders and patients.
The letter further maintained that more people can use their right to vote if the polling hours are increased.
The general elections are scheduled to be held on July 25. – NNI
