Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan has been released from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail following the approval of his bail by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad.
Bail Details:
- The ATC, presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, approved Hasan’s bail petition against surety bonds worth Rs200,000.
- The ATC issued a mandamus (robkar) for Hasan’s release after approving his bail plea in a terror financing case earlier in the day.
Legal Representation:
- Hasan was represented by his counsels Shaista Khosa and Raja Yasir Rauf, who received him outside the Rawalpindi prison.
Case Background:
- Hasan was named in the case based on the statement of co-accused PTI International Media Coordinator Ahmed Waqas Janjua, alleging Hasan’s involvement in providing financial support to terrorists.
- PTI leader Ali Zafar criticized the filing of cases against Hasan, describing them as acts of political vengeance by opponents.
Hasan’s release marks a significant development in the ongoing legal challenges faced by PTI members amid political tensions in the country.
