Rs1.6455 billion are paid to KWSC employees in 8 M

KARACHI: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Engineer Syed Sallahuddin Ahmed made payments of Rs1.6455 billion to KWSC employees in various heads from July 2023 to February 2024, says a Press release.
According to the Spokesperson of KWSC, these payments are the highest payments made in one year in the history of the Water Corporation.
The KWSC press statement said that the amount of payments made by the CEO of KWSC to the employees in one year since assuming office is unprecedented in the history of the KWSC.
The CEO KWSC in his message on the first day after assuming office said that solving the legitimate problems of the serving and retired employees of the Water Corporation is among his top priorities and in this regard, effective measures will be taken for the welfare of the employees at different times.
The KWSC press statement said that after the CEO of KWSC assumed his position, the Water Corporation became a department that pays its employee’s salaries and pensions to its retired employees on the first date of a month.
Apart from this, concrete measures are being taken for the timely payment of leave encashment received by the employees in the month of Ramadan this year, the leave encashment will be paid in full to all officers and employees in the second Ashra of Ramadan.
DMD Finance KWSC Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah said that the CEO of KWSC has taken effective measures by taking a personal interest in solving employee problems.
He said that the for the first time in the history of KWSC, payment of gross salary to serving employees has been ensured, He said that effective measures have been taken to preserve the deduction of funds from the salaries of the employees so that those funds could paid to the employees on time whenever they needed.
He said that from July 2023 to February 2024, payments of Rs1.645 billion have been made to the employees, out of which the GP Fund of Rs481 million, Supplementary Bills of Rs77 million, Gratuity Pension of Rs37 million, LPR of Rs112 million, House Building Loan and Financial Assistance to the heirs of deceased employees of Rs215 million, medical permission case of Rs4.15 million, medical hospital / institute of Rs322 million and full payments of Rs6 million of group insurance have been made, which makes a total of 1.645 billion.
He said that effective measures are being taken for the early payment of the dues of the retired employees on the special instructions of the CEO KWSC so that the dues of the employees could be paid quickly.
