South African HC hosts reception in honour of youth cricket team

KARACHI: Honorary Consul General of South Africa in Karachi, Majid Bashir Ahmed gave a luncheon in honor of the selected youth cricket team under the Nelson Mandela Talent Hunt scheme.
Players and officials of the South Africa women’s cricket team and the national women’s cricket team, who are visiting Pakistan for the first time, participated, while a large number of diplomats and dignitaries from the city also participated in the ceremony, including former Governor Sindh Lt General (Retd) Moin Uddin Haider, MQM Leader Dr. Farooq Sattar, Irfanullah Marwat, PCB Women Wing Chief Tania Malik and others.
Under the Nelson Mandela Talent Hunt scheme, the South Africa tour is aimed at bringing out the budding cricketers, it is hoped that the South Africa tour will give the players an opportunity to learn.
Ambassador former Test captain Sarfraz Ahmed said that it is a matter of pride to give opportunities to budding cricketers; the tour will enhance their skills.
Consul General Majid Bashir Ahmed expressed his gratitude.
