Sahrish Ali among Girls, Sohail Adnan in Boys Under-13 and
M. Saim in Under-9 become champions; Over 140 participate

KARACHI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Saddam ul Haque won the PSA Satellite Men’s Singles event in the second Texas Chicken Open Squash Championship. Top seed Abdullah Nawaz was defeated in the final, Sahrish Ali became the champion in Girls Under-15.
The finals of all categories were played at PSF Jahangir Khan Squash Complex in Karachi. On the occasion of the final matches, Director Squash Sindh Mustafa Kamal, Secretary Sindh Squash Association Muhammad Amir and other officials were present.
In the closing ceremony, the sponsor of Texas Chicken Shehzada Babar Asad was the chief guest who distributed prizes and cash prizes to the winning players. In the men’s singles final, top seed Abdullah Nawaz and Saddam ul Haq played a keen contest.
After winning the first game, Abdullah Nawaz lost the next two games, but he won the fourth game after a tough competition and scored the match 2-2 but Saddam won the fifth and decisive game and the title also.
The match score of Saddam-ul-Haq’s was 6-11, 11-2, 11-5, 8-11 and 11-5. In the girl’s category Sahrish Ali won the title by defeating No. 6 seed Damia Khan of Sindh easily by 11-2, 11-4 and 11-3.
In the Boys U-13 final, No. 3 seed Sohail Adnan of Punjab defeated No. 4 seed M. Bin Atif of Punjab in 20 minutes, won the event by defeating 11-2, 11-1 and 11-7 after easy competition.
In the final of Boys Under-9, top seed Sindh’s M Saim defeated No. 9 seed Sindh’s Abahan Khan by 11-3, 11-2 and 11-2 in just 15 minutes. More than 140 players across the country participated in the event.
