KARACHI: UBG Patron-in-Chief S.M. Munir has said that United Business Group and National Business Group Alliance jointly organized a press briefing to introduce their nominated candidates for Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) elections 2021 Thursday at Gohar Chamber, KAECHS Karachi. Our candidate will achieve unprecedented victory in elections and the lost prestige of FPCCI and business community will be reinstated, he added.
UBG and NBG candidates contesting the FPCCI elections were introduced to S.M Munir and Mian Zahid Hussain announced the names of their joint candidates including Khalid Tawab for President and Abdul Rauf Mukhtar for Senior Vice President and candidates for Vice Presidents elected from all four provinces and said that our nominees should be known in the business community. Dr. Jassu Mal T. Leemani, twice elected for as the chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association is a very talented candidate and his services to the business community are not hidden from anyone.
S.M Munir said that UBG has always played the role of a bridge between the business community and the government and fought for the interest of the business community and the nation. Dignity and its image of Pakistan was projected all over the world. He said that the elected FPCCI officials of UBG considered the funds of FPCCI as a trust of the business community for a period of 5 years, and had left millions of rupees in the FPCCI Account. He lamented that the Group of Businessmen’s Panel had badly tarnished the image of the FPCCI during its one-year tenure.
NGP chief Mian Zahid Hussain said that the business community and industrialists were badly affected by the corona virus. In such a situation, the FPCCI officials had left the business community alone. In December 2021, the FPCCI purpose of joint participation in the KP elections is only to compensate the FPCCI for the losses incurred by the incompetent BMP. He said that our candidates would restore the identity of the representative bodies of the business community by achieving great success and FPCC would play an important role in collaboration with the government for the development of the national economy.
Secretary General Zubair Tufail said that for the first time in the FPCCI elections, UBG and NBG are participating in the elections jointly. Before last year, UBG had won the elections 5 times Continuously. FPCCI was given importance in economic policy making during our 5-year tenure. Hanif Gohar on the occasion said that the presence of our beloved leader S.M Munir has created a disruption in the opposition group and this year the business community across Pakistan has become more active under the umbrella of UBG than last year.
Alaudin Mari, former Chief Minister Baluchistan, NBG Business Leader from Balochistan said that We stand nowhere in BMP regime and share his disappointed sentiments.
Presidential Candidate UBG, Khalid Tawab said that we picked our candidates on merit and they are “best of the best”. He laid stress for developing bilateral relations with neighboring Courtiers like our former President Ayub Khan and quote his initiative regional cooperation for development (RCD).
Zubair Tufail, Secretary General of UBG, Muhammad Hanif Gohar, Chief Coordinator Election Office, Gulzar Feroze, Central Spokesperson, former Chairman ABAB, Arif Jeeva, Rauf Mukhtar, Izhar ul Hasan, Adeel Siddiqui, Ikhtiar Baig were also addressed the function.
According to details, UBG and NBG, who are contesting the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) elections for the year 2021, inaugurated the election office before the Press briefing by UBG leadership.
Tariq Haleem, Abdul Sami Khan, Noor Ahmad Khan, Mumtaz Sheikh, Shaheen Ilyas Sarwana, Shakeel Dinra, Ahmad Chennai, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Naheed Masood and others were also present on the occasion.
