US Woman Travels to Pakistan to Marry Facebook Friend from Upper Dir

DIR (Upper): In a heartwarming cross-continental love story, an American woman, Mindy, has arrived in Pakistan to marry her Facebook friend, Sajid Zeb Khan, a resident of Usheri Dara in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The couple first connected through Facebook two years ago, and their virtual friendship gradually blossomed into a relationship. According to Sajid, it was Mindy who proposed marriage, and after mutual agreement, both families were informed of the decision.

Mindy, who works as a flight attendant and lives in Chicago, landed at Islamabad International Airport, where she was received by Sajid. The two then travelled to his hometown in Upper Dir, where locals warmly welcomed her.

In a brief video message recorded at Sajid’s home, Mindy expressed her joy and admiration for Pakistan.

“My name is Mindy, and I’m from America. I’m here in Pakistan for the first time. It’s a very beautiful, peaceful country. I came for Sajid Khan, and we plan to marry soon,” she said.

Sajid informed local authorities that the couple did not require security, as their intentions were peaceful and sincere. Their nikah is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, in accordance with Islamic principles and local traditions.
