I extend my warm felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines on the auspicious occasion of the 128th Independence Anniversary of the Philippines.
This historic day is a tribute to the courage, resilience and national spirit of the Filipino people, who have continued their journey of progress with dignity, unity and determination. The Philippines is widely respected for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant society and valuable contribution to peace, development and regional cooperation.
Pakistan and the Philippines enjoy cordial and longstanding relations based on mutual respect, friendship and shared values. Since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations on September 9, 1949, both countries have continued to strengthen cooperation in different fields including trade, education, culture, labour, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
Sindh, being the economic hub of Pakistan, values its connections with friendly countries and remains committed to promoting international cooperation, investment and cultural understanding. Karachi, as a cosmopolitan city, has always welcomed diverse communities and served as a bridge for friendship among nations.
On this important occasion, I appreciate The Financial Daily International for publishing this special supplement to commemorate the Independence Anniversary of the Philippines and to highlight the friendly relations between Pakistan and the Philippines. I also acknowledge the efforts of Dr. Imran Yousuf, Honorary Consul General of the Philippines in Karachi, for promoting goodwill and closer engagement between the two countries.
May the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and the Philippines continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
