KARACHI: The installation ceremony of Rotary District 3271 was held at Hotel Regent Plaza where the Deputy Governor, Assistant Governor, Club Presidents, Secretaries, and hundreds of district team members from 175 clubs of Sindh & Balochistan participated, says a Press release.
On this occasion, SLASH was presented to Director of Rotary International 2022-24 Muhammad Faiz Kidwai along with Rotary Foundation Trustee 2020-24 Aziz Memon, New District Governor 2023-24 of Rotary International District 3271 Mohammad Hanif Khan, and others.
A musical and Qawwali program was also organized in the ceremony, while a minute’s silence was observed to pay homage to the mother of the nation, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah. The term of all office bearers is one year.
Addressing the ceremony, RI Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai said that, I welcome the new office bearers. Today is an enjoyable day, past district governor has done good work, and the new governor will continue to do so. We should use our energy for positive work. Unity is the need of time. Efforts should be made to bring youth forward.
Faiz Kidwai added said that we have achieved 25% success so far, and 75% work is still going on. Six people were selected as the new director of Rotary International, and anyone takes the director post. When I was elected director for two years, there was competition from other countries including Bangladesh, but Allah Almighty gave me success.
If we made an effort, the President of Rotary can be a Pakistani. He said that we ended the negative propaganda about Islam abroad and provided correct awareness about the religion of Islam.
Further, Kidwai said that we need that become one nation and one vision. We have not been able to do this since 1947, we do not need IMF loans if we use the resources of the country in a better way.
Kidwai said that the most important work of Rotary is to establish Smart Villages House in flood-affected areas, 400 houses are to be constructed in each village in 50 villages. Making the country polio-free is a part of the program. Rotary is also committed to education, employment, and the eradication of poverty.
Rotary Foundation Trustee Aziz Memon said that there are high expectations from District Governor Muhammad Hanif Khan. Hanif Khan will improve the image of Rotary in public.
Aziz Memon added if you deposit at least 10 dollars or its equivalent in Pakistani currency in Rotarian Pakistan Trust, we can do a lot with our resources. The number of club members should be up to 50 in each club, not 12 or 15 members.
