Yining Situated in the northwestern part of Xinjiang, near the border with Kazakhstan. A lush and fertile region often referred to as the “Switzerland of Xinjiang. Economy Known for agriculture, animal farming and dairy products. Famous for its beautiful valleys, grasslands and flower gardens.
Our stay in Yining city had now entered its final phase and our next task was to visit the Industrial Development. Beautiful city located in China’s autonomous region of Xinjiang, is home to these industries, which covers a vast area. Within this park, extensive work is being carried out across various industries including the processing of agricultural and sideline products, new materials and equipment manufacturing, trade logistics and information technology. The purpose of this park including promoting economic growth, attracting industrial investment and nurturing modern industries.
After that, our next visit was to the Yili General Office, which holds great historical significance. Because the office was established in 1762 AD, when the Qing government took control of Zungaria and began organizing the region’s administrative system. The first General was Ming Rui and his position was of great importance as it was responsible for the region’s defense and border security. The General’s duties included organizing military troops, establishing checkpoints, preventing enemy invasions and overseeing local administrative affairs. He also managed land distribution, tax collection, supervision of urban and rural development and the adjudication of legal matters and disputes. Moreover, he had authority over local courts and the judicial system.
The General’s jurisdiction also extended to regional development, the construction of military and civil buildings, management of water resources, agriculture and trade. At times, local scholars or influential individuals who resisted or rebelled against the government were exiled under his secret orders. In 1884, when Xinjiang was officially declared a province, the powers of the Yili General were curtailed and the position became primarily focused on military affairs. However, since Xinjiang known as border region, maintaining its security remained a top priority. Thus, the Yili General Office served as a crucial bridge between the local administration and the central government linking military command with civil governance.
The General’s mansion became a symbol of regional authority and prestige. Even today, the building stands as a historical monument, which is why we were taken there for a visit.
Later, on the second floor of hotel, a lecture and cultural exchange session was held by Ali Asher, on the theme of Cultural Preservation and Development. The session included a detailed discussion on cultural harmony and mutual exchange.
Our next and final destination was the airport, from where we boarded flight CZ682 to Urumqi. With beautiful memories of Yining city, we bid farewell to this enchanting place.
Yet, even as we departed, Yining left deep impressions on our heart its progress, natural beauty and the remarkable harmony between modernity and nature were truly admirable. The way Xinjiang has managed to preserve its natural environment alongside development stands as a model worthy of appreciation. When we were traveling from Kashgar toward this destination, it never even crossed my mind that this place would be so beautiful where development, the basic necessities of life, and an impressive standard of living would blend together so gracefully. The charm of this place is so captivating that it draws visitors in and leaves a lasting impression. To be honest, I had thought we might see some development or perhaps an ordinary city nothing extraordinary. But when we arrived, the scene was completely different. Heart-touching sights awaited us and for me, it was an entirely surprising experience. It was a truly enchanting place everything was well-organized. Development was evident, but I had never imagined it. For instance, the industrial park zone here is filled with diverse industries. Moreover, when we observed the local dairy and milk production system their methods, mechanisms and the entire process a completely new image of this city unfolded before us. We also witnessed progress in the fields of energy, science and technology. Furthermore, the under-construction highways and motorways, modern infrastructure and the high standard of living all together presented a magnificent picture of development. When we traveled from the hotel to the industrial park zone, it was a long journey, during which we observed many aspects of progress. Wide roads, the flow of vehicles and systematic, long-term planning everywhere whether in dairy farms or industrial areas everything was truly impressive. The natural beauty of the region further enhanced its charm. In short, it was clear that every aspect of development had been planned thoughtfully to provide maximum employment opportunities for the people. After seeing, understanding and staying in this city, I can confidently say that there is no sign of backwardness here, nor any kind of disorder. It was a peaceful environment where everyone was engaged in their work and signs of progress were visible everywhere.
We witnessed all this with our own eyes and captured many photographs and videos especially of the natural beauty of the region. With these beautiful memories, our journey came to an end. I learned how even a tourist destination can be effectively utilized for industrial and economic benefits. All of this truly reflects President Xi Jinping’s vision that focus should not only be on major cities like Shanghai and Beijing, but equal attention should be given to the development of such regions as well and that, in fact, is the real secret behind China’s remarkable progress. Throughout the entire journey across Xinjiang whether it was Kashgar or Yili (Yining) the element of development was prominently visible everywhere. This was what impressed me the most and I believe this is the true spirit behind China’s success.
