ISLAMABAD: In another blow to the already overburdened power consumers, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has again hiked the electricity tariff by Rs7.5 per unit in on account of fuel price adjustment.
According to the notification, the power sector’s regulatory body approved increase in the electricity tariff by Rs7.5 per unit for January 2024 and this hike will be charged from consumers during the month of March 2024.
The increase will be applicable to all the consumer categories except K-Electric.
The hike in the power tariff will put an additional burden of Rs66 billion on the power consumers. – NNI
