FoodPapa’s explosive entry in food delivery market offering over 50,000 jobs in first phase

 

KARACHI: FoodPapa, one of the largest food delivery service projects by Pakistani-American philanthropist and businessman Ali Sheikhani’s companies – revealed its application launch on Friday in a grand ceremony was held at KababJees Marquees, Super Highway in Karachi, attended by members of Karachi’s Restaurant Owners Association and other notable personalities.

Sheikhani Group USA and Sheikhani Group Businesses Pakistan – has also started accepting job applications. Within just four hours of opening applications on FoodPapa’s website, the company received a record-breaking over 100,000 applications Addressing the gathering, Ali Sheikhani, CEO of the company, expressed gratitude and shared: “FoodPapa was a dream envisioned by Zafar Abbas Bhai in 2019, but it couldn’t take off due to certain reasons. In 2022, FoodPapa came to the Sheikhani Group. We worked on it for two and a half years in the U.S. and then decided to launch it simultaneously in Pakistan, the UAE, and the USA.

Starting June 20, we will officially begin food delivery services in Pakistan’s four major cities – Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad – before expanding nationwide. FoodPapa will make Pakistan proud globally, with launches in the UAE in August/September and the USA in September/October.”

Ali Sheikhani further announced plans to expand FoodPapa to Oman, Australia, the UK, and other major countries. He emphasized that unlike existing food delivery companies that heavily profit from riders and restaurants, FoodPapa will not charge riders for the first 45 days or restaurants for the first 60 days. Additionally, riders and their families will receive 100% insurance coverage.

The company will also be publicly traded, allowing anyone to buy shares. Sheikhani announced that 2% of shares would be given to Zafar Abbas (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), General Secretary of JDC Foundation Pakistan.

The event concluded with a countdown, marking the official launch of FoodPapa’s website: (www.foodpapa.com).

Earlier, a documentary on Sheikhani Group and its charity arm, Shamim Sheikhani Foundation, was screened. The ceremony also featured speeches by Zafar Abbas (Head of JDC Foundation Pakistan) and leading restaurant owners in Karachi. The event was hosted by renowned TV artist Sadia Imam More than seventy restaurants owners and All Pakistan Restaurant Association assured their full support to newly launched food delivery App.
Chairman APRA, during Media interaction said that the government of Pakistan will provide free merchant practice to all businesses.
