KARACHI: Pakistan and China on Tuesday reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to further strengthening their “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” as Ishaq Dar held detailed talks with Wang Yi in Beijing, reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchanging views on key regional developments.
The high-level meeting, held at the invitation of the Chinese foreign minister, underscored the depth, resilience, and strategic importance of Pakistan-China ties at a time of shifting global dynamics and heightened regional tensions.
According to an official statement, both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions ranging from restricted-level talks to delegation-level exchanges, reflecting a shared resolve to further deepen cooperation across economic, strategic, and diplomatic domains.
A key focus of the meeting remained the evolving situation in West Asia, where both countries emphasized their joint commitment to peace, stability, and dialogue. In this regard, Pakistan and China agreed on a five-point initiative aimed at promoting de-escalation, encouraging diplomatic engagement, and fostering long-term regional stability.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and constructive diplomatic efforts in addressing regional challenges, highlighting Islamabad’s growing role as a responsible stakeholder advocating for peaceful solutions.
As the two countries mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, both sides reiterated their commitment to advancing high-quality development and expanding cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly its next phase, commonly referred to as CPEC 2.0.
The renewed focus on CPEC 2.0 reflects a strategic shift towards industrial growth, technological collaboration, and sustainable economic development, building upon the infrastructure and energy foundations laid in earlier phases of the flagship project.
The leadership also stressed the importance of enhanced high-level exchanges and institutional linkages, recognizing that sustained engagement remains critical for translating strategic vision into tangible outcomes.
In addition, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their close coordination at multilateral forums, pledging to continue working together on global issues including regional security, economic cooperation, and climate-related challenges.
Observers note that the meeting once again highlighted the enduring nature of Pakistan-China relations, often described as “iron-clad,” rooted in mutual trust, shared interests, and a history of consistent support.
The visit of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar to Beijing is being seen as a significant diplomatic step, reinforcing bilateral alignment at a time when global and regional uncertainties demand closer cooperation among trusted partners.
Analysts believe that the continued strengthening of Pakistan-China ties will not only contribute to economic progress but also play a stabilizing role in the broader region, particularly amid ongoing tensions in West Asia.
The latest engagement signals that both Islamabad and Beijing remain firmly committed to shaping a cooperative regional environment through dialogue, strategic coordination, and long-term partnership.
