PM pledges full support to enhance youth skills, education

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday assured that the federal government would utilize all available resources to further enhance the skills and capabilities of the country’s youth, reiterating that young people remain at the center of the government’s development agenda.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program, at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting focused on key initiatives aimed at youth welfare, with particular emphasis on education, skills development, and technology-driven learning.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that empowering youth through education and modern skills was essential for national progress and economic stability. He stressed that investment in human capital, especially the younger generation, was a strategic priority for the government and would help Pakistan compete in an increasingly knowledge-based global economy.
During the briefing, Rana Mashhood apprised the prime minister of ongoing projects under the Prime Minister Youth Program, including the laptop scheme designed to promote digital literacy and improve access to modern educational tools for students across the country. He also shared updates on measures being taken to expand opportunities for young people through training, capacity-building, and engagement initiatives.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Youth Program and noted that such initiatives were playing a positive role in improving educational access and supporting talented students. He emphasized that the government was committed to further strengthening these programs to ensure that youth from all regions and backgrounds could benefit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that enhancing the educational and professional capabilities of young people was not only a social responsibility but also a long-term investment in Pakistan’s economic future. He directed relevant authorities to continue working closely with the Youth Program leadership to ensure effective implementation and tangible outcomes.
